7 Deep Thoughts on Blogging Everyday

Today I’m right at the halfway point of my month-long “blog everyday” experiment, and I can’t help but declare how difficult this is.

Here’s are some deep but off-the-cuff thoughts on what it feels like to blog every day:

The Not So Good

1. My post quality has declined.
By far this is the toughest reality. I used to give myself a week or even more to craft a post, and I dared not publish it until I was sure it was decent.

But now that I MUST publish everyday, I find myself scrambling ideas to throw together, which isn’t good. I don’t like to rush writing, and I feel like I’m back in the newsroom with a story deadline looming every day. It’s been edgy. [Read more...]

Poll: What Matters to You in a Blogger?

I’m ultra curious to know what really keeps readers loyal to a certain blogger.

I’m now convinced there’s no such thing as a perfect blog post. We are not scholars pursuing an ‘A,’ but rather friends sharing interesting and relevant ideas.

Blogging is simply written conversation with value—stuff people enjoy reading by choice. [Read more...]

Why You’ll Never Get Rich Blogging

I concede: I will never get rich blogging and I don’t recommend you try it, either. It worked well for some people at the right time, but it’s not ever going to work for me…and likely you.

The reason why is because blogging for money tends to evaporate creativity and the Linchpin. The majority of bloggers entering the scene are compelled to produce content that meets the goal of making a sale.

Opportunistic bloggers with little experience usually find a popular marketing blog or two to help get them started. These popular blogs are rooted in the “make money” formula, which is based on three things: [Read more...]
