Welcome to something new here at Wordful. Every Friday I’m going to post little nuggets of content, tweets, links, conversations, or whatever from the past week on the web.
Friday Freak Out is an experiment to:
- Give you readers a break from my writing.
- Draw more traffic to this site through the power of link karma.
- Give me a break from writing and the opporunity to be Editor-in-Chief.
So without further ado, here is Friday Freak Out for the week of 4/25-5/1, 2009:
- Twitter offers forum for disgruntled Alaska drivers. I know about bad Alaska drivers because I lived there for 15 years. I was one of the few good ones đ
- Great example of an unconventional yet arresting blog post headline. Blogs need more raw language like this.
- Marko Saric finally comes out and says what a lot of us are thinking: make money online schemers suck. Marko and a few others are on to something big here, so pay attention.
- De la Soul is on Twitter and I got tweeting with Plug One. These guys are still one of my all time favorite rappers. Gotta love celebrity tweeting — try it out!
- Writers, get over writer’s block. Nadia Ballas-Ruta writes a very polished blog post–one of the best ever I’ve read–on overcoming this crippling condition.
- @AaronWall and @PeterDavanzo of SEO Book are cranking out some of the best blog content on the web. This post on Domain Name Branding highlights why we need to stop being generic and start being authentic. Duh!
- “Whatâs an industry-recognized and -respected editor to do once he/she is laid-off by a major publisher?“, asks John Blyer, a blogger who proudly calls himself an editor.
- Fiction writers give some of the best blog writing advice.
- Coppyblogger Senior Editor Sonia Simone continues to officialize the new term “content marketing” with this breakthrough post. It’s right on the money, literally.
- It was only a matter of time before The White House would go and do something like this. Don’t expect a follow-back, though.
Have a great weekend and Aloha from Wordful!
Ed: I’ve decided to move this to “Wordful Wednesday” next week.
