Forgot to ask... what is considered "A lot of traffic"?

I get about 1000 page views a day, however, I know people who get Tens and Thousands of visits each day.

I guess it would matter to me more if I was trying to make a living off blogging.

When you figure out how to make money off your blog... please let me know.

I just picked up two more advertisers in the last couple days. Sad thing is... I don't get paid for them as much as a real paper would if they were selling the same spots.

Hi there, Nate -- first of all congratulations on your new blog. I checked it out and I'm happy to see you're taking this blogging thing to another level. Your niche is good because you've got a real first-person perspective, and readers appreciate that. I hope we can both grow our readership (and all the goodies that come with it) together.

About your comment: I did not mean to say that changing my style is the key to attracting traffic and revenue. But I do mean that I need to stand out in more than one way. Having a clear, flowing voice is important to me because I consider myself a writer before anything.

Sometimes we should step back and ask ourselves "what exactly is good content?" Is it information, facts, opinion, entertainment? I personally think it's all of those things but only to some people.

Anyway -- you got me on the consistency part. It's something I struggle with, but am earnest about nailing it.

And yes, the post was pretty self-serving, but I'm acting as if I have a huge base of readers who would really care, even if they don't exist or don't care. More info here.

Charles, you don't have to change your writing style just to get traffic and revenue. If you post quality content, and write with passion, I'm positive you will generate traffic and revenue. You don't have to resdesign everything (I think you have a pretty sweet design here). If it helps motivate you then do it. However I would argue that the only thing you're missing is consistent quality content. About your reader's.

While I thoroughly enjoy hearing updates on you (i'm a fan.) New reader's may not care so much what your doing. Reader's are fickle and care mostly about themselves. Tell them about themselves you'll get traffic. Talk about yourself and you'll probably only reach family and friends.

It doesn't have to be daily content, if your busy schedule won't allow it, just consistently. And quality. If you do those two things you will find your reader's and the money that comes with it.

I look forward to reading more from you Charles, and I wish you the best. I can't wait to see some new content (about you or me, either way ;-) )

Your Friend,
